In the context of Romania's accession to Euro-Atlantic structures, the Romanian academic environment has to play an important role, considering that education and training represent a essential condition for joing NATO. In Spring 2002, at the initiative of Mr. Vasile Secares, Ph.D., Rector of the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration (NSPSPA), a group of professors from NSPSPA decided to directly contribute to Romania's accession to NATO and established the NATO Studies Center in Bucharest.
